Note: If you have Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) or 10.6 (Snow Leopard), you will need to download OS X El Capitan before you can upgrade to the latest Mac OS. While insecure versions of Firefox will continue to work on OS X 10.8 and earlier, using an up-to-date version of Firefox on a supported version of Mac OS will provide you with the best and safest. Running macos 10.6 snow leopard and want to install firefox. Mozilla site says that version 45 is last version (no longer supported) thar will run on macos 10,6 I cannot find it to download. I did find a webpages at mozilla with numerical list of what looks like all versions, but no legend to explain what file to download.
I loathe ALL Google wares as they are all resource hogs on the Mac OS.

Ditch Google Chrome and download and install the latest Mozilla Firefox Browser.
You do not know when or if Mozilla will cease support for OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Firefox For Mac Os X
As long as the Mozilla group keeps issuing FireFox updates that are still compatible with OS X Snow Leopard, use this web browser until such time as Mozilla makes a formal announcement about their OS X support.
Mozilla only recently withdrew support for OS X 10.5 Leopard.
